Ownership

All proprietary rights in the Public Institutional Edition remain with MONTREAL.AI and the other identified authors and rightsholders, as applicable. The absence of a paywall, the presence of a download button, repository access, a public hash, or a permissive link does not dedicate the Materials to the public domain and does not create collective, community, token-holder, or universal ownership.

Permitted public use

You may read, cite short excerpts with accurate attribution, link to the official publication, and download copies for personal study, scholarship, internal evaluation, and good-faith research, subject to the Terms. Any broader copying, commercial use, hosted redistribution, translation, adaptation, training-data ingestion at scale, derivative branding, or integration into a product requires prior written permission unless a separate licence expressly permits it.

Attribution and integrity

Do not remove copyright, trademark, claim-boundary, evidence-status, or regulatory notices. Do not edit a document in a way that preserves its branding while altering its substantive meaning. Do not imply endorsement, partnership, certification, agency, authority, or an official fork.

Separate licences

Code, data, or third-party components that include a separate licence remain governed by that licence. No licence to names, logos, trademarks, ENS names, domain names, trade dress, confidential information, patents, or unpublished inventions is granted by implication.

AI and text-and-data mining reservation

To the extent permitted by applicable law, rights are reserved against automated extraction, bulk text-and-data mining, and training or evaluation of commercial machine-learning systems using the Materials without prior written permission. The accompanying robots.txt communicates crawler preferences but is not represented as a universal legal or technical control.
